Senate blocked a procedural motion to advance the DISCLOSE Act (S 3628)

clock July 27, 2010 17:13 by author Carl
The Senate has blocked a procedural motion to advance the DISCLOSE Act (S 3628), by a vote of 57-41 (They need 60). The Senate plans to hold more votes before the August recess. Supporters of the socialist shut your Pie Hole & take your medicine group says the bill will increase the transparency of donations made by corporations or special interest groups to political campaigns. If passed, it would be the first successful legislative response to the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United v. FEC, which opened the door to political contributions by corporations [More]

clock July 26, 2010 21:14 by author Carl
DISCLOSE ACT back on the calendar for Tuesday July 27, 2010! We must stop this 1st Amendment killing legislation. They are trying to stop our voices! Please call these Congressmen and tell them to Vote No on DISCLOSE ACT!

The Democrats are running scared, fearful of the impact grassroots activists will have in November. With the DISCLOSE Act, which will go into effect almost immediately, in time for the November elections, they will be able to effectively and legally shut us down. The effort to silence us before the elections is tantamount to a witch hunt. Read this email carefully for more information about this bill and then please make some phone calls NOW and tell them to VOTE NO!! [More]

clock July 20, 2010 13:32 by author Carl
Kagan’s nomination advances , it can still be stopped by a filibuster, or by a full Senate vote. That’s why we’re asking that you:
Call Senator Scott Brown at 202-224-4543, or 617-565-3170, and ask that he oppose Kagan’s nomination. Ask that he filibuster her nomination if necessary, in order to stop it. [More]
